Carlos Alcaraz clinched his maiden Monte-Carlo Masters title on Sunday, defeating Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti 3–6, 6–1, 6–0 in a commanding comeback. This victory marks Alcaraz’s sixth Masters 1000 title and the 18th ATP Tour title of his career.
Musetti began the match with confidence, capitalizing on Alcaraz’s unforced errors to take the first set 6–3. However, Alcaraz adjusted his strategy in the second set, displaying aggressive baseline play and strategic drop-shots to dominate 6–1. In the final set, Musetti struggled with a leg injury, which hindered his performance, allowing Alcaraz to close out the match decisively at 6–0.
With this win, Alcaraz ascends to World No. 2 in the ATP rankings, surpassing Alexander Zverev. He also leads the Race to Turin, positioning himself as a strong contender for the year-end ATP Finals.

Reflecting on his performance, Alcaraz emphasized the importance of learning from past challenges. « Every setback is a lesson » he remarked, highlighting his growth mindset and determination to continually improve.
Looking ahead, Alcaraz is set to compete in the Barcelona Open. With Madrid and Rome on the horizon, the Spaniard will turn his focus to maintaining momentum and building toward another deep Roland-Garros run.
